I am originally from the midwest, having lived in Minnesota from birth until the 5th grade, and then in Lincoln, Ne. until my
senior year of high school, when our family moved to the Seattle area. Since then I've lived in the Northwest, primarily in the greater Seattle area, though I spent a few years close to Portland, Oregon as well.
I received my Bachelor of Musical Arts Degree from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wa., and my Masters in Teaching Degree from George Fox University in Newburg, Or. I have also been privileged to receive further musical education by attending various workshops over the years, and am grateful to the many fine musicians with whom I've crossed paths.
Before joining SCC as the Director of Worship, Music, and Arts, I was involved in music ministry part-time, and also taught in the public school system for 11 years. I taught high school vocal music primarily, but have also worked with Jr. High, middle school, and elementary students. I'm very happy to be in full-time ministry now, and believe that the gifts the Lord has given me musically, along with the years of teaching experience, will lend themselves well to the tasks God has called me to at SCC.
I am married to Miranda, my better 2/3rds! We have a daughter Lydia, 8 and a son Jeremiah, who is just a few weeks old. Jeremiah
is training to be a singer by screaming alot at night - he's just about ready for the Opera! I am blessed to be part of such a loving, forgiving family, and enjoy spending time with them whever I can.
Besides the Lord, my family, the Body of Christ, and music, I love to ski, eat, and watch football. I also enjoy trying to stay in shape, which is really important if you love to eat.
