Missions at Sequim Community Church
“This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” John 15:8
SCC supports over 30 international and domestic missions endeavors and has a commitment to give 11% of our church operating budget to these every year. As our church continues to grow, so does our missions involvement!
Our commitment is not only financial, but practical as we have individuals and small groups involved in a number of local and overseas projects.
We encourage our small groups to adopt and pray for these various ministries and to make relational connections to the individuals we support, so that they have groups of people who care for them when they come to town and visit or give reports. We also have an active missions committee that meets every month to distribute funds and plan projects.
Every Spring Break our high school ministry sponsors a trip to the Door of Faith orphanage in Mexico, and we run adult short term mission trips under the leadership of Rev. Rick Dietzman, who is our minister to adults and a former missionary himself. Currently we are looking for people with experience in teaching, real estate, small business etc to go for 10 days to Central Asia and do training and relational sharing - all in English! Curriculum provided for you.
This year we began a partnership with Global Media Outreach an internet ministry which reaches millions of people a year with the good news of Jesus Christ. We are actively recruiting "online missionaries" from our church who respond to email enquiries from all over the world, and are working on building a team of a hundred people from SCC who take part. You can pick up an informational DVD about this ministry in the church office or write an email to rick@sequimcommunitychurch.org
We are also involved serving international students which includes hosting a very special group of students in the month of July and involvement with internationals at the community college in Port Angeles.
You can pick up a directory which lists our various supported ministries at the information counter. There is also a short term missions trip interest form there which you can use to let us know you'd like to consider one of our upcoming trips.
